Hello everyone, I am looking to overclock my 8320 from 3.5Ghz to 4.5Ghz. I have tried to overclock to 4.5GHz @ 1.475v but my temperatures were too high. CPU: AMD FX-8320 @ 3.5GHz (stock) wwwoverclock.net/t/1348623/amd-bulldozer-and-piledriver-overclocking-guide-asus-motherboard.
I checked my specs and it shows my FX-8320 is running @ 3.5 ghz and 4 cores (that part confuses me as it has 8 cores?) I thought I'd like to change my CPU settings from stock 3.5 ghz to turbo speed @ 4.0 but I learned to not use the turbo core at all. Here are my specifications: CPU: AMD FX-8320 Black

According to CPU-Z and my BIOS my FX-8320 is running @ 3.50 GHz. CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.50 GHz Eight-Core. Well, it has come to my attention that my motherboard, the ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0, is not really overclocking material.
For the basics the FX 8320 cpu is multiplier unlocked like most FX based cpu`s from AMD. Most FX based cpu`s will on average overclock by an extra 800Mhz on the core speed. In your bios, first turn off cool and quiet, and also the turbo core feature. Go to the settings for the Cpu. In there you will see the

I have a FX-8320 with a GA990FXA UD3 R5 and I tried to overclock it to 4.4 GHZ but when I ran the "stress the cpu" on CPU-Z I ended up crashing and I am trying to figure out how I can run it stable at around 4.8 GHZ.
